Christian Rodriguez Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Tuivasa vs Tybura
/

The Roufusport product was stuck on the wrong side of things in the early stages, getting out-wrestled in the first round by the Midwest prospect. But as the fight progressed, Rodriguez was able to claw his way back into things, capitalizing on Dulgarian’s failing gas tank and leaning on his own experiences to control the action over the final five minutes.

When the scores were tallied, it was the 26-year-old Rodriguez that came out ahead, with all three officials scoring the fight 28-27 and two of the three seeing it for “CeeRod.” After a pair of wins over unbeaten talents in 2023, Rodriguez picked up right where he left off to begin his 2024 campaign.

Ovince Saint Preux defeats Kennedy Nzechukwu by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Ovince Saint Preux and Kennedy Nzechukwu spent three rounds locked in a shot-for-shot battle at range, with the veteran ultimately landing on the happy side of the scorecards.

The light heavyweight tandem traded one-for-one through much of the first two rounds, neither man putting together much in the way of combinations or landing with any real mustard. But in the third, both men stomped on the gas, with Saint Preux stinging Nzechukwu early and the Fortis MMA man responding in the back half of the frame.

They continued throwing and landing though the final horn, and when the scorecards were totalled and read aloud, it was the soon-to-be 41-year-old divisional stalwart that earned the victory. A dozen years after registering his first UFC win, “OSP” showed he can still turn in entertaining performances all these years later. | Official Scorecards

Battle looked sharp throughout the first round, taking the fight to Loosa over the opening five minutes. In the second, as the two came together in the center of the Octagon, Battle’s finger grazed the eye of Loosa, prompting a pause in the action. Loosa indicated he was unable to see and the fight was halted.

Marcin Tybura Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Tuivasa vs Tybura
/

The Polish veteran got cut in an early exchange with birthday boy Tai Tuivasa, but remained focused, battling through the early onslaught to secure a takedown. From there, Tybura worked around to the back and began unloading blows, forcing Tuivasa to leave his neck exposed. When he did, Tybura sunk in the choke and secured the finish.

The 38-year-old Tybura is now 4-0 in Las Vegas and 8-2 in his last 10 UFC starts. He’s been a fixture in the Top 15 for a number of years and showed on Saturday that he’s still a dangerous threat in the heavyweight division. | Official Scorecards
