Info

When and why did you start training for fighting? I did karate from 5-17 then started kickboxing when I was 18. That eventually turned into BJJ, then MMA. Martial Arts has always been a passion of mine. It’s a way of discipline and respect.

What ranks and titles have you held? I am a black belt in Jhoon-Rhee Taekwondo. I'm currently a blue belt in BJJ. As an amateur fighter I was a four-time world kickboxing champ & three-time amateur MMA champion, eventually earning the #1 amateur spot before turning pro.

Do you have any heroes? My mother - for her strength and never ending love.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? A childhood dream come true.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I graduated at 20 years old in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Criminal Justice and Sociology.

What was your job before you started fighting? I worked in customer care for a cruise line.

Favorite grappling technique: Ground-and-Pound

Favorite Striking technique: Punches in bunches
