UFC Partners With Trae Tha Truth To Raise $23,500 for Houston’s Annual Trae Day Weekend With Angel By Nature

UFC Raised The Funds By Auctioning Off Two Seats In UFC President Dana White’s Vip Section For UFC 262 And UFC 265, Which Both Took Place At Toyota Center In Houston

Las Vegas, Nevada and Houston, Texas — UFC recently partnered with rapper, record executive and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth and global fundraising platform Charity Buzz to raise $23,500 for Truth’s local Houston non-profit organization, Angel By Nature.

UFC raised the funds by auctioning off two seats in UFC President Dana White’s VIP section for UFC 262 and UFC 265, which both took place at Toyota Center in Houston. All four auction winners sat with Trae during the events, and each also received a custom UFC Flare 8 BumpBoxx.

"I’ve been a huge fan of UFC for a long time, and partnering with them was a really dope experience,” said Trae Tha Truth. “Having a brand such as UFC recognize what we’re doing for disadvantaged children and those in need, then step up and lend their support to the local Houston community is really a true blessing. The funds raised from our campaigns will go towards our annual event, Trae Day, and will provide kids with much needed supplies. We thank UFC for all of their support and we look forward to doing more things down the road.”

Established in 2009, Angel By Nature is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals who have been affected by hardship and impoverishment, especially the underserved youth of Houston. Since its inception, Angel By Nature has donated more than $1.5 million in the form of supplies to over 7,500 families and 20,000 individuals residing throughout Houston.

All net proceeds from the funds raised were allocated to Houston’s Annual Trae Day Weekend. Now in its 13th year, Trae Day Weekend serves as an opportunity to honor the city of Houston, unify its citizens and help prepare students to go back to school with backpacks, clothes, supplies, scholarships and more. Along with UFC, other charitable sponsors included Habitat for Humanity, Spotify, Google, Dropbox, Cricket, Boost Mobile, Mack Mattress Outlet and Beyonce’s Bey Good Foundation.

Trae is currently working to raise funds to purchase or build an emergency children’s shelter in Houston, that will provide housing and a safe space for youth adversely affected by abuse and homelessness. He is also in the process of opening his own “Trae MCA” a local version of the YMCA that will serve as an after-school safe-haven for local youth to obtain tutoring and learn life skills.

In May 2021, Trae was awarded the Change Maker Award during the Billboard Music Awards. The award pays tribute to “the artist or group that speaks truth to power through their music, celebrity and community. They are socially conscious, politically aware, active in their community and charitable with time, money and/or influence to improve the lives of others.”
