UFC recently partnered with Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors (JAH4WW) to provide custom home gyms and physical therapy rooms for disabled veterans as part of the non-profit organization’s mortgage-free program.
Established in 2009 by former NFL All-Pro Jared Allen, JAH4WW’s mission is to raise funds to build injury-specific, accessible, and mortgage-free homes for critically injured military veterans.

“We are grateful for our partnership with UFC,” said Alex Karalexis, Executive Director – Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors. “UFC’s injury-specific custom gyms and physical therapy rooms will provide veterans with everything they need in the comfort of their home. UFC has always gone above and beyond for the men and women who have served our country with distinction, which is aligned with its CSR program's mission. We can’t wait to collaborate on more homes for veterans!”

Bobby Body, a retired U.S. Army Specialist E4 and paralympic powerlifting record holder, is the first recipient of a custom UFC home gym for his new home in Alpina, Michigan. Bobby lost his left leg in 2006 during his tour in Iraq, as a series of improvised explosive devices (IED’s) detonated under his truck.
After retiring from the Army, Bobby joined Disabled American Veterans (DAV), an organization that helps fund critical programs that veterans and their families rely on daily.
“My family and I are thankful for everyone who helped make this dream a reality,” said Body. “This is our dream home, and we’re excited to move in and start the next chapter of our lives back in Michigan.”
As a member of DAV, Bobby took a tour of the UFC Performance Institute in 2019, and while training with UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin, met Karalexis, who competed with Griffin on Season 1 of The Ultimate Fighter, UFC’s iconic reality series.
“Bobby and I were training when Alex came in, and it was a perfect conversation,” said Griffin. “Bobby needed a new home, and when Alex started talking about the new program that his non-profit was launching, it was a perfect alignment. It’s so cool.”
After agreeing on a location in Bobby’s home state of Michigan, JAH4WW embarked on a mission to secure the land and align with partners that supply the pieces needed to build an injury-specific home.
“We could not build these amazing spec homes without our partners such as UFC, Home Depot, KB Homes, and United Brotherhood of Carpenters,” said Karalexis. “As we identify each candidate, their need, and the requested location of the home, our partners work together to provide the recipient with everything they need to make their daily life easier.”
UFC and JAH4WW will continue to collaborate on injury-specific custom gyms and/or physical therapy rooms for veterans who select the option as part of their new home. To learn more about JAH4WW, please visit https://homesforwoundedwarriors.com/.
UFC’s corporate social responsibility program, #UFCInTheCommunity, strategically collaborates with partners, sponsors, and athletes to develop additional charitable programs and funding sources to help bolster and inspire the local community. For more information, please visit UFCFOUNDATION.
