UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Nurmagomedov Prelim Results
Sedriques Dumas defeats Denis Tiuliulin by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Saturday’s action began in the middleweight division, where Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) alum Sedriques Dumas got himself back into the win column with a solid all-around effort against Denis Tiuliulin .
“The Reaper” showed a more grappling-focused approach in the first, looking to play on Tiuliulin’s demonstrated weakness on the canvas. In the second and early part of the third, the 28-year-old from Pensacola, Florida mixed in more striking, working behind a sharp jab to keep the Russian at bay before tactically navigating the final half of the round to ensure a victory.

All three judges had the fight in favor of Dumas, who picked up his 10th career win with the victory while moving to 3-2 inside the Octagon. As for Tiuliulin, that’s now four straight losses and five defeats in six UFC starts.
Jai Herbert defeats Rolando Bedoya by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
British veteran Jai Herbert got himself moving in the right direction again with a unanimous decision win over Rolando Bedoya.
The 36-year-old used his superior length, speed, and technique to out-land the durable Peruvian, who was going down to the 155-pound ranks for the first time. While Bedoya landed some quality shots that marked up Herbert, “The Black Country Banger” was the more active and effective throughout, scoring with straight shots inside the youngster’s looping swings.

Herbert has struggled to replicate the success he had under the Cage Warriors banner since transitioning to the UFC, this was a solid, technical effort from the veteran that produced his first victory since he bested Kyle Nelson in London in July 2022.
Sam Hughes defeats Viktoriia Dudakova by split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)
Sam Hughes collected the kind of decision win she forecasted heading into Saturday’s matchup with Viktoriia Dudakova — a gritty, hard-fought victory forged by her tenacity.

Sam Hughes Post-Fight Interview | UFC Abu Dhabi
/
The undefeated Russian was sharp in the first, getting the better of the striking exchanges while having success getting Hughes to the canvas. But as Dudakova’s gas tank started to wane, the former D-I track athlete ratcheted up the pace, carrying the momentum into the final minute of the fight where Dudakova was able to clinch and avoid any further punishment.
When the scorecards were totalled, it was Hughes that emerged victorious, getting her back into the win column while simultaneously bouncing Dudakova from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Guram Kutateladze defeats Jordan Vucenic by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
The lightweight matchup between Guram Kutateladze and Jordan Vucenic came together on short notice, but you wouldn’t have known it from the dynamic effort the duo put together in Abu Dhabi.
Vucenic dominated the first round of his UFC career, boxing up and dropping “The Georgian Viking” at one point. But the tenured talent rallied back in the second, cutting Vucenic with an elbow, battering the body, and working his wrestling. A tactical miscue in the third resulted in Vucenic getting his back taken, allowing Kutateladze to spend the final half of the pivotal third round in complete control, landing short shorts.

Guram Kutateladze Post-Fight Interview | UFC Abu Dhabi
/
All three judges saw the fight the same, awarding Kutateladze the unanimous decision win with 29-28 scores across the board. It’s a good comeback win for the talented Georgian, and a strong first showing up a division for Vucenic, who is still a name to watch going forward, especially if he returns to the featherweight ranks.
Shamil Gaziev defeats Don’Tale Mayes by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Shami Gaziev turned in an economical, yet dominant performance against Don’Tale Mayes to instantly bounce back from his first career loss.
The Russian-born heavyweight who trains in Bahrain put Mayes on the canvas in the first, controlling him there throughout before grinding his fellow DWCS alum along the fence and chipping away with short shots in the second. A minute into the third, Mayes was put on his back and Gaziev was able to keep him there, salting away the victory.
After falling to Jairzinho Rozenstruik in a main event assignment in his sophomore UFC outing, Gaziev got things moving in a positive direction again, moving to 13-1 in the process. For Mayes, the setback drops him to 4-5 with one no contest through 10 UFC starts, and 11-7 with that single outlier verdict for his career.
Kauê Fernandes defeats Mohammad Yahya by TKO (strikes) at 4:45 of Round 1
Kauê Fernandes brutalized the legs of Mohammad Yahya in Saturday’s penultimate preliminary card fight before finally putting him out in the waning moments of the opening round.

Kauê Fernandes Post-Fight Interview | UFC Abu Dhabi
/
Fernandes, who was frustrated by his loss to Marc Diakiese in his debut, attacked the legs of Yahya early and often, making it difficult for “The UAE Warrior” to stand, yet alone fire off attacks. Late in the round, the Brazilian dropped Yahya with a sharp one-two before pounding out the finish on the canvas.
Just an outstanding effort from start-to-finish for the 29-year-old UFC sophomore.
Azamat Murzakanov defeats Alonzo Menifield by KO (strikes) at 3:18 of Round 2
Azamat Murzakanov remains undefeated.
Competing for the first time in well over a year, the 35-year-old light heavyweight maintained the zero in his loss column with a second-round stoppage win over Alonzo Menifield. “The Professional” was the more active and effective of the two for the majority of the contest, mixing his attacks well before catching Menifield with heavy shots late in the second that sent him tumbling to the canvas, bringing about the finishing blows.
