Dates, Locations And Fighters For UFC 298, UFC Austin & Much More
UFC CEO Dana White took a break from his own Thanksgiving festivities to break some crucial upcoming fight announcements. You can watch the entire video below. Here are the big takeways:
- For the December 2 Austin event (UFC Fight Night: Dariush vs Tsarukyan), Dan Hooker was forced to withdraw from his co-main event bout with Bobby Green after re-breaking the same arm he broke in his last fight.
- No. 13-ranked lightweight Bobby Green will now face No. 12 Jalin Turner in a three-round co-main event in Austin. In addition, due to an illness with No. 12 light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov, the fight between Murzakanov and No. 11 Khalil Rountree Jr. is off.
- Rountree Jr. will now be competing at UFC Fight Night on December 9th vs No. 8 Anthony Smith in the co-main event.
- No. 7 bantamweight Song Yadong will take on No. 14 Chris Gutierrez in the main event of the UFC Fight Night Card December 9 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
- Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will defend his strap vs Ilia Topuria at UFC 298 taking place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
- February 10 a UFC Fight Night main event will feature rising middleweight star Joe Pyfer vs No. 10 Jack Hermansson at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
